Job description

This role resides within the Games Division, the group within Gameforge where great gaming talent works together to publish world class free-to-play online service based games and accountability resides for the performance of all games in the Gameforge portfolio. The Senior Live Game Designer, reporting to the Head of Live Game Design & Monetization, will support this mission through the management & support of Gameforge’s Live Game Designers. The ideal candidate is a well organized and creative individual with good communication skills and a track record of developing & operating high quality, free-to-play online games to help drive our future effort to deliver the best game service experiences in the West.


Tasks to inspire:

  • Support and facilitate career development for other Live Game Designers in the department
  • Facilitate the constant improvement of Gameforge’s design, sales and monetization efforts, by developing measures and supporting the zShop development & operation
  • Consistently working with Portfolio Managers to support the games’ shop solution needs and drive innovation through all our games and the centralized publishing platform
  • Pro-actively engage with Portfolio Management, Online Operations Management, Data Analytics, Business Affairs, Quality Assurance and Payment to support initiatives that develop a dynamic culture through collaborative teamwork, best practices, as well as clear communication of expectations and successful outcomes to help optimize Gameforge’s portfolio for long term sustainable growth
  • Throughout all stages of a game’s life cycle, service & support the game teams in their efforts to meet the needs of end-users, evaluate market trends & competition, troubleshoot challenges, gather relevant KPIs and leverage this information to determine what measures to implement and outcomes to achieve on both a project and portfolio level
  • Support development and launch of new products in collaboration with key internal stakeholders such as Portfolio Management, Business Affairs, and Marketing
  • Come up with innovative solutions in strategy, planning and execution cycles to maximize transparency and optimize resource allocation across the board
  • Design and implementation of overarching customer lifecycle monetization, upselling and customer loyalty/retention programs
  • Contact for external partners of our 1st and 3rd party publishing efforts in order to evangelize the strategic vision and needs of Gameforge


Qualifications to convince:

  • A minimum of 5 years in different design roles with experience in maintaining, developing and/or publishing at least one successful competitive title through key phases of its life cycle
  • Understands design processes and is able to broaden the team’s design know-how
  • Leadership skills and exhibited ability to be a role model and coach employees on different levels
  • Good communication, project management, and relationship-building skills
  • Able to work well in a team environment and manage multiple complex projects with various groups
  • Ability to travel internationally to lead on-site visits and workshops with business partners
  • Demonstrated passion for online computer games and self-motivation for furthering a prosperous career in the F2P online games industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; MBA or other relevant higher degree a plus
  • Proficiency in English, written and oral is required & German, written and oral a plus
