Job description

We are looking for a Game Development Team lead with a passion for leading a product team into delivering successful web-based games and games integrations, to join Esport-Management at their Berlin, Germany office. 

Esport-Management is an online platform designed to find and raise the next generation of esports athletes. This SaaS platform equips grassroots, amateur and semi-pro players with performance, growth and management tools needed to advance into a professional esports career and gain visibility among esports organizations that seek esports talent.

Esports is a rapidly growing market with Newzoo predicting that this year the global esports market will generate revenues of $1.1 billion, up +26.7% year on year.

After a highly successful startup and funding phase, Esport-Management is now poised for rapid growth and this role will be of pivotal importance. This position reports directly to the CTO.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality web based training games

  • Lead by example on world class engineering quality standard

  • Evangelize and inspire an Agile approach

  • Ensure that Test driven development and other extreme programming techniques are embraced by the tea

  • Line management on team members, team dynamics and productivity

  • Establish best practices and then ensure they are followed by your tea

  • Manage and communicate on the product road map, make the team’s velocity transparent and predictable.

Job requirements:

  • Creative, curious, problem solving and analytical mind with a passion for esports, gaming and geek culture.

  • Hands on senior engineer with strong technical skills. You will be coding 70% on your time.

  • Senior Engineering skills with a strong Javascript experience or standard gaming technology (C++, Java, Unity etc…)

  • Has led and worked in an international agile engineering department

  • Experience in working at scale

  • Open source contribution is a plus

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, 10 years as a Software Engineer

  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment

  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving work environment

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written. German and French a plus

  • Ability to work in (and, if necessary, relocate to) Berlin, Germany
